The School of Labor and Human Resources hosts numerous affiliated research institutions and cross-disciplinary research centers. These institutions conduct academic and policy research in areas such as employment, social security, labor relations, corporate organization, and human resource management. Their goal is to advance the development of theory and practice in the field of labor economics and management in China.

INSTITUTE OF ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR

l The Institute of Organizational Behavior was established in 1988 and is one of the earliest affiliated research institutions of the School of Labor and Human Resources. The institute primarily focuses on research in areas such as organizational behavior, career development, talent development, and leadership, aiming to advance the development of both theory and practice in these fields.

SOCIAL SECURITY RESEARCH CENTER OF CHINA

l The Social Security Research Center of China at Renmin University of China was established in 2002 based on the university's Institute of Social Security, which was founded in 1997. The center was approved by Renmin University of China as an open research and talent training institution.The center's mission is to fully utilize the substantial academic resources of Renmin University of China's relevant faculties, to unite domestic and international social security experts to jointly advance research on China's social security theories and policies, to train top-tier social security professionals, and to contribute to the reform and sustainable development of China's social security system. The center is dedicated to the theoretical and policy research of China's social security issues, and to creating a high-end platform for academic exchange on social security between China and the international community. Since its establishment, the center's faculty members have undertaken nearly a hundred collaborative projects both domestically and internationally. To date, the center has published over 60 academic works, translations, and textbooks, and more than 500 academic articles in significant journals and newspapers. The center has also organized the compilation of nationally influential teaching materials and auxiliary references, including the "Core Course Series Textbooks for Higher Education in Labor and Social Security" and the "Social Security and Labor Case Series." Founded in 2004, the "Social Security Studies" journal is the only social security specialty publication in the national CSSCI catalog to date. Additionally, the center serves as the organizing and secretariat office for major international and domestic social security academic exchange platforms such as the "International Social Security Forum" and the "China Social Security 30 Forum."

LEADERSHIP SCIENCE RESEARCH CENTER

l The Leadership Science Research Center is a university-level research center, established in 2002. The center adheres to the principle of enhancing academic research and applying research outcomes for community service. It leverages Renmin University of China's strengths in scientific research, academic exchanges, organizing academic conferences, promoting cooperation between research and practice, disseminating applied research results, and serving the community, thereby advancing academic research and practical applications in leadership science. The research center organizes an annual forum to introduce the latest findings in leadership science research; it also hosts multiple academic seminars and dialogues between scholars and practitioners each year, facilitating the integration of academic research with practice, providing students with opportunities to understand practical applications of leadership science, and offering practitioners the latest academic research findings. Additionally, the research center has established strategic partnerships with journals such as Leadership Science and Chinese Leadership Science. In recent years, the center’s researchers have undertaken several corporate leadership development and training projects.

l The China Institute for Employment Research was established in 2004 and is an authoritative institution for employment theory and policy research in China, with extensive influence both domestically and internationally. INSTITUTE OF LABOR RELATIONS

l Established in 2004, the primary mission of the Institute of Labor Relations is to safeguard workers' rights and foster harmonious labor relations through research. The main tasks of the institute are as follows: First, to study current labor relations policies and significant issues in China; second, to train professionals in the field of labor relations; third, to provide expert advice for national labor policy reforms; and fourth, to create a platform for the exchange and sharing of knowledge among scholars in labor relations.

CHINA DISABILITY INSTITUTE

l The China Disability Institute at Renmin University of China was officially established in 2007 as the nation's first research institute dedicated to the development of disability affairs. It is an interdisciplinary and open research institution. The institute is committed to becoming an important base for research on disability affairs development in China and a significant platform for international academic exchange on disability affairs. It aims to be a crucial driving force in advancing the development of disability affairs in China.

CHINA INSTITUTE FOR HUMAN CAPITAL AUDIT

l The China Institute for Human Capital Audit (CIHCA) was established in 2011 as the first specialized institution in China, approved by Renmin University of China, focused on the research of human capital strategy and human resource audits at both macro and micro levels. CIHCA is currently engaged in various research projects, including studies on human resource legal audits, human capital audits of listed companies, human resource audit systems for corporate groups, Strategic Social Responsibility (SSR) audits, human resource consultancy project audits, executive human capital audits, Executive Time Utilization (ETU) audits, strategic studies on human capital in government and public sectors, national macro human capital audits, and research on the development of the human resources industry. CIHCA regularly publishes various reports on human resource audits. The institute also collaborates with central and local governments, state-owned enterprises, listed companies, and industry associations to conduct targeted human resource audit research services and submits or publishes specialized human resource audit reports.

CHINA INSTITUTE FOR EMPLOYMENT AND WELFARE STUDIES

l The China Institute for Employment and Welfare Studies was established in 2023. Taking advantage of the new era’s national strategies such as employment prioritization, talent development, high-quality growth, and promoting common prosperity, it aims to address the major shifts and critical issues facing human society. These include a new round of technological revolution, the transition from industrial to post-industrial society, changes in production factors and organizational forms, and demographic structure changes. Relying on Renmin University of China's strengths in social sciences and grounding itself in disciplines such as economics, public administration, and business administration, the Institute integrates theories and methods across different disciplines to promote interdisciplinary convergence and fusion. It absorbs practical experiences from China and around the world, centers on workers, focuses on employment, and targets the welfare of the populace to carry out a range of activities including foundational theoretical innovation, significant policy research, applied practice analysis, and talent development.
