Biography
Dr. Mengting Li, an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Security at the School of Labor and Human Resources, received her PhD degree in Social Welfare from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She completed her postdoctoral fellowships in Epidemiology at Rush University, USA, and has served as an Assistant Professor at the Rutgers School of Nursing, USA. She was a Core Member at the Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. Dr. Li was a NIA Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) Scientist affiliated with the Asian RCMAR. Dr. Li received an Alzheimer’s Association Research Grant to study the cognitive trajectory of Asian immigrants. She was also the PI of a pilot project on elder mistreatment and cognitive function supported by an NIH P30 Center grant. Dr. Li’s work has focused on the social determinants of health in aging populations, including intergenerational relations, social networks, family caregiving, long-term care, immigration and acculturation, elder abuse, mental health, and cognitive function. She is an editorial member of Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences (2022-present; IF: 5.6). She also serves as an editorial member of Research on Aging (2024-present; IF: 3.1).
