The 6th CIER / IZA Labor Economics Seminar is held successfully

"The sixth CIER / IZA Labor Economics Seminar" which jointly organized by the Chinese People's University Institute for Employment Research (CIER) and the German Institute of Labor (IZA) was held on July 18 and 19, 2014 in Bonn, Germany Labor Institute. Prof. Zeng Xiangquan, dean of the School of Labor and Human Resources of Renmin University of China, and Prof. Klaus F. Zimmermann, director of the German Labor Research Institute, attended the meeting and delivered speeches about the background and the topics of the meeting.

The meeting was organized by professors CorradoGiulietti (IZA), Klaus F. Zimmermann (IZA), Zeng Xiangquan (Renmin University of China) and Zhao Zhong (Renmin University of China). The meeting focused on our labor market and had a discussion from seven aspects in depth: the impact of the minimum labor wage, rural-urban migration and urban-rural gap, the participation behavior of the elderly and minorities, the impact of public health insurance to consumption and transfer payments, informal employment, inequalities of labor market, and university education and human capital investment. The scholars, from the German Labor Institute, Monash University in Australia, University of Virginia, USA Bowdoin College, University of Bologna in Italy, France economic theory and analysis center, the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, Norwegian School of Economics, Institute for Development of Advanced International in Geneva, Capital University of Economics, Southwest University of Finance and Economics and Renmin University of China, have reported the latest research results, respectively.
Professor Zhao Zhong in our school reported the progress about the overall design, theoretical and practical significance of the project at the meeting, which carried out the "Chinese employer - employee matched data tracking survey".
"CIER / IZA Labor Economics  Seminar " was co-sponsored and organized by the School of Labor and Human Resources of Renmin University of China and the China Institute for Employment Research, the German Labor Institute. It successfully held the fourth, which organized at Renmin University of China in September 2009, IZA (Bonn, Germany) October 2010, Renmin University of China July 2012, IZA (Bonn, Germany) October 2013 and Renmin University of China, respectively. As the initiator of the forum, the school of Labor and Human Resources in Renmin University of China, regarded it as an important part of the strategy to enhance the international level, and expanded academic influence of the School of Labor and Human Resources in this field by organizing and participating in forums, building an platform of international labor economics academic exchange.
