In this summer vacation, Dean &Prof. Zeng Xiangquan, vice Dean &Prof. Zhou Wenxia, assistant of school¡¯s international communication office Zhou Ning and 25 students of our school went to Japan and participated in the Second Sino-Japan Youth Academic and Cultural Exchange Activities at Ritsumeikan University. The program continued the topic of ¡°One Summer, Two Countries, and Many Friends¡±. In next nine days, our delegation experienced Japan University life in Biwako-Kusatus Campus of Ritsumeikan University. The activities included joining classed, visiting famous corporations, holding academic discussions and feeling Japanese culture.
On 30th June, our dean and vice dean had dinner with dean of College of Business Administration of Ritsumeikan University and happily discussed future cooperation.
On the morning of 1st July, students from Ritsumeikan University led us to tour around Biwako-Kusatus campus. Then we joined Professor Liu Qinghong¡¯s management class and exchanged ideas about education, air pollution and so on. In the afternoon, we presented Chinese culture to Japanese teachers and students from various perspectives. Our students also shared Beijing local snacks with Japanese students. On the evening of 1st July, College of Business Administration of Ritsumeikan University held formal welcome meeting. Two sides¡¯ leaders delivered speeches and exchanged presents. On the afternoon of 3rd July, Professor held the academic meeting in which Dean Zeng Xiangquan gave a lecture about Chinese labor market, and vice dean Zhou Wenxia gave a lecture about career planning, which attracted Japanese students¡¯ attention and interest. In next few days our delegation visited campus library, enjoyed wonderful kendo and sado acting, visited places of interest in Kytyo, Nara and Osaka and tasted delicious Japanese food. On 5th July, we were led by Ritsumeikan University students to visit the International Peace Museum at Kinugsa Campus. This museum was the first peace museum set up by a university and it became an important place to think about war and peace. We were deeply moved by the university¡¯s efforts to deepen peace and friendship between China and Japan.
On 7th July, students from both sides presented achievements and shared feelings about this trip. Our students also made a clip of video, leading everyone to our happiness and harvest. Professor Liu Qinghong from Ritsumeikan University awarded every student certificates. The trip was brought to an end within the farewell dinner.
The Sino-Japan Youth Exchange Activities China and Japan enhanced youths¡¯ mutual cultural understanding and shared academic thinking between the two countries. Based on previous activities, Ritsumeikan University and School of Labor and Human Resources will expand more in-depth exchanges and cooperation in talents training and academic fields and make teachers and students become cultural and academic bridge and link of the two countries.
