On June 5, 2014, the International Symposium on Anti-poverty Policies of China and the United States jointly organized by the School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China and the School of Social Work, Rutgers University of the United States, was held in Shaw Conference Center of Renmin university of China.
Professor Zeng, Xiangquan, dean of School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China, gave an opening speech. He reviewed the communication process between Professor Richard L.Edwards, executive vice President of Rutgers University and several deans from school of Labor Relations, Social Work and so on, thanked the warm reception on April given by professor Cathryn Potter, dean of the School of Social Work of Rutgers University and professor Huang, Jianzhong, director of Huamin Center. He expressed hopes that the Rutgers University and Renmin University can know more each other in the aspects of history, culture and social system through this exchange, and promote the academic research of anti-poverty policy and constructive cooperation and communication of the two colleges through this seminar.
Professors and teachers from different universities both in mainland and abroad gave brilliant speeches and discussions.
The meeting was hosted by professor Han, Keqing, director of the Social Security Department of Labor and Human Resources School, Renmin University of China. Mr. Lu, Dezhi who was the chairman of Huamin charity foundation attended the meeting and gave a speech. The delegation from Rutgers University including 30 teachers and students, Lecturer Dr. Li, Ying and some students attended the meeting.
