Brief of 2011 Graduate Placement of the School of Labor and Human Resources
 
In 2011, a total of 287 students graduated from SLHR (among them, 278 are full-time students), including 133 bachelors (all full-time), 130 masters (127 full-time) and 24 doctors (18 full-time).

In 2010, the School has 293 graduates (263 full-time), including 124 bachelors (all full-time), 149 masters (127 full-time) and 20 doctors (12 full-time).

The Employment Situation of Alumni from Our School   2007 - 2009
 
The employment rate of alumni from our School has been one of the best in Renmin University of China. Most alumni worked in the central and local governments, large-scale state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and foreign invested enterprises in China. Many have become well-known professors, experts, senior government officials and human resources managers.
There are two Bachelor’s degree programs in our school (Labor and Social Security (Labor Relations included), and Human Resources Management), four Master’s degree Programs (including Labor Economics, Labor Relations, Social Security, and Human Resources Management), three Doctoral degree programs (including Labor Economics, Social Security, and Human Resources Management). The alumni of our School mainly work in governments, state-owned enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises. Also, some graduates choose to pursue advanced studies in China or abroad. In the following, detailed informatio, n is provided.

According to the figure above, the total number of our undergraduate students increases modestly in the past three years. Specifically, students majored in Labor and Social Security has increased year by year, while the number of students majored in Human Resources Management is kept stable at about 65 - 70.
 
 iiThe Geographical Distribution of Bachelor Alumni, 2007-2009
It is easy to see that our Bachelor alumni mostly concentrate in Beijing, provincial capitals, Guangdong, Shanghai and other places. More than 60% of graduates work in Beijing. Students majored in Social Security are more likely to find a job in Beijing than students majored in Human Resources Management.
 
 iii. Employment Sectors of Bachelor Alumni, 2007-2009
As seen from the Chart above, most of our graduates go to state-owned enterprises, move on to have postgraduate education, return to the original provinces, or go abroad. In the students majored in social security, the percentage of graduates going into the state-owned enterprises increases year by year, while the percentage of graduates having postgraduate education declines year by year. In the students majored in Human Resources Management, the percentage of graduates going into the state-owned enterprises has been maintained at more than 40%, and the percentage of students having postgraduate education demonstrated a substantial increase in 2009. Very few graduates work in other economic sectors.

Since 2008, we have offered a Labor Relation Mater program, but students enrolled in this program are small. As seen from the table above, the Human Resources Management Master Program has admitted more students than other programs. Since we admitted a number of students majored in Social Security through a training program in 2008 and 2009, Social Security students admitted through joint entrance examination has reduced significantly. The number of students enrolled in the Master Program o, f La, bor Economics has been stable.
 
 ii Geographical Distribution of Master Alumni, 2007-2009
As seen from the figure, students graduated from our Master Programs are mainly concentrated in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and the provincial capital cities. Those working in Beijing are more than 60% of the total. In 2009, nearly 80% of alumni majored in Labor Economics and Human Resources Management work in Beijing. The percentage of Labor Economics alumni staying in Beijing has increased from 2007 to 2009, and was lower than that of Human Resources Management alumni only in 2008. For Social Security students, the percentage of alumni returning to provincial capitals has been kept between 25% and 30%, slightly higher than students majored in Labor Economics and Human Resource Management. The Human Resources Management Master Program is the most popular one. Students enrolled in this program have good employment opportunities, and the percentage of alumni working in Beijing is on the increase.
 
iii. Employment Sectors of Master Alumni, 2007-2009
Our Master alumni mainly work in state-owned enterprises, civil services and public institutions, return to provincial capital cities, continue to have Doctor’s degree education, or going abroad. Among them, the percentage of alumni entering state-owned enterprises has been the highest, followed by alumni entering the public sector. The percentage of Labor Economics students going into state-owned enterprises has been more than 70, and it even reached more than 80 in 2007. The percentage of Social Security students working in the public sector has remained relatively high. The percentage of Human Resources Management alumni going into the state-owned enterprises has remained at around 72, and the percentage of alumni working in other sectors is also stable. Alumni majored in Labor Relations are mainly employed in civil services, public institutions and state-owned enterprises.

The numbe, r of doctoral alumni in our school shows an upward trend since 2007. The number of, doctoral students majored in Human Resource Management has been stable, those, in, Social Security increase every year, and those in Labor Economics fluctuates.
As seen from Chart 8 and 9, most of our doctoral alumni find jobs in Beijing, and very few go to other places; they mostly engage in civil services and public institutions, and very few works in enterprises. In the past three year, s, only one or two graduates go to wor, k in state-owned enterprises each ye, ar.
 
 IV. Summary
According to the employment situation of our alumni in the past three years, we can see the following features:
1. A high percentage of alumni working in Beijing.
2. A high percentage of alumni working in state-owned enterprises.
This could be due to the fact that many our alumni work as human resources managers, and when they need more people, they prefer to recruit from our School. This has a significant influence on the employment of our graduates, and the percentage of alumni working in state-owned enterprises has been kept high.
3. Doctoral alumni mainly work in civil services and public institutions.
Doctoral alumni of our school mainly do research in universities or government departments. Therefore, they are concentrated in the sector of civil services and public institutions, and very few works in enterprises.
4. The overall employment rate is high.
The employment rate of our alumni has been quite high. This is especially true for Doctor and Master Alumni, which almost reach 100%. Because many Bachelor alumni proceed to have advanced studies, the employment rate of graduates with Bachelor’s degree is also high.
